Favorite Books of 2022
I knew my reading habits were going to take a dip in medical school but I did not realize how much until I was in it. Luckily, I managed to read 10 books which is just 2 books less than my typical amount. My goal for 2023 is 25 books and I have a plan to make sure that I meet it. Until then, here’s my top 5 favorite reads of 2022 with a short rating and description. Longer reviews are coming soon. Happy reading.
5: How to Walk Away by Katherine Center
Rating: 4/5
Katherine Center was a new author for me and since reading this book, I have read multiple of her books. Her characters come to life and her stories have a depth and realism that I enjoy.
4. Book Lovers by Emily Henry
Rating: 4/5
This book was so fun! I loved the storyline, plot, and chemistry. I am definitely a fan of Emily Henry and will be reading more from her.
Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Rating: 4/5
This book is a book of possibilities, what if’s, nostalgia, and the american dream. The immigrant experience is a tough one but it is also a beautiful journey and we see that in this story.
Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson
Rating: 4/5
Black Cake was so refreshing. Through multiple POV’s and timelines, we are able to witness a story of love, pain, anger, acceptance, loss, struggle, and more. It made me smile and laugh and tear up. Check out my full review HERE
