Bonjour! I’m Stace

I am a third year medical student. I am also a first-generation American with parents from Ghana, West Africa. I am a nontraditional premed who has has a difficult but rewarding journey to medicine. I made some mistakes, learned a lot, and had fun on the way. I started this blog to share my love of travel and books as well as things that I have learned/am learning on my journey to medicine.

Education

I took 4 gap years. I went to UConn for my undergraduate degree where I received a B.S in Molecular & Cell Biology. I took a break from education and volunteered via AmeriCorps before returning for a 1 year post-bacc. In Spring 2021, I completed my Master’s in Biomedical Sciences at Elms College. I started medical school in the Fall of 2022.

My Mission

I am passionate about many things but if I had to list 3 things it would be:

  1. Empowering others to achieve their goals

  2. Serving the underserved, especially the homeless populations

  3. Youth health & education - they are our future!
